Planted septic system
April 29, 2008
I really have no idea what to call it in English, but as of last Wednesday, M. Hardy and his able team came to our house and started digging up the ground to put in our planted sewer system. Three separate planted beds filter out impurities in the waste water that is ground up and pumped out of the house… and we get a nice garden out of it and a much more aesthetic method of dealing with, well, mung, than a septic tank.
Nothing has been planted yet, except for tomatoes and basil, cilantro, and peppers on the side, and phacelie and red linen flowers. But, it will be soon because the washing machine and the pump are helping to fill up the water levels, and the dirt being washed out of our clothes is going back into the Maffay mud.
